Your dentist will make sure you feel comfortable before beginning the procedure. First, you’ll get an injection in your gums to numb the area around the affected tooth. Next, your dentist will remove the decay from the tooth. That’s generally done with a drill, which you won’t feel since you’ll be numb!
Once the decay is removed, your dentist will restore the tooth by filling the area where the decay previously was. Afterward, we’ll adjust the filling, so it’s perfectly aligned to your natural bite. Depending on how large the filling is and how many teeth need to be filled, the time will vary, but it will typically be less than an hour
